IBBY Europe Regional Conference Languages in Europe

by Apr 13, 2019IBBY NEWS0 comments

From theory to practice – a day of exploration and sharing

Our two keynote speakers, Christine Hélot and Carole Bloch set out the academic research about multilingualism and its implications for children and their reading and language development.  Publishers, librarians, academics, and foundations then followed this up with examples of projects they have developed to make this a reality for children. Books published, books distributed, website guides, work with children – all aspects were covered both in terms of the new languages in Europe and Europe’s minority languages.
